McClure Barron Cemetery) Surveyed by Debra Coursey Pitts & son D.J. on January 19,2003. Location: Hwy.103 East, opposite side of road from Thomas Crossing (right side), turn on Co.Rd.# 150 , sign will read: McClure Barron Cemetery Road, proceed 1.2 miles, cemetery on left. There was no sign on this cemetery at the time of our survey. NOTE: I am puzzeled by this cemetery. The sign posted by the highway turn off reads: McClure Barron Cemetery, however since only one cemetery can be found (McClure), I wonder if another one ever did exist, or still does ?? If so ,where is it ? And how does a person get to it ? The property is not accessable,it is all behind locked gates going into private hunting clubs . According to my map there SHOULD be 2 seperate cemeteries in this area,McClure (which IS at the end of this road) and Barron(aka Barring),which should be a bit further to the east of McClure. If anyone has info on the existance of a Barron / Barring Cemetery in this area I would appreciate knowing.I would like to be able to view and survey it,thanks. ************************************************** This is obviously a very old cemetery, rarely used to date.It is very quiet and peaceful but is not kept up or maintained. Most of the markers are merely thick concrete blocks with black lettering on them, names mostly and few dates or other information. *************************************************** Information is written as it appears on markers. *************************************************** 8 Unknown, marked only with 4"x5" concrete blocks strown throughout cemetry.
